To propose to a woman you love is one thing. But to ask her parents for her hand in marriage–well, that’s one for miracles.

Ryan and Aby started out as great friends.. Aby would pray for him and her friends and Ryan would tag along with her to church and Bible studies. It wasn’t long until God was moving in their lives, and as a bonus, He also brought them together! The two became a couple in 2008 and have been together ever since.

But perhaps that was as far as the smooth sails go. When Ryan and Aby decided to get married, everyone was in their favor–everyone but Aby’s mom. “Over and over, we would try to convince her to bless our wedding, but to no avail. Our engagement dragged on longer than what we had planned,” Aby recalls, “it was our biggest, most memorable challenge.”

Would Ryan win her mother over?  Apparently, God was not finished with his miracles just yet!

“Our faith and trust in God–and no less than that–made the difference,” Aby continues, “We knew God was placing us in circumstances where He would stretch our faith in him–as in! So all we had to hold on to was God’s promise in 1 Corinthians  13:7.”

“It wasn’t long until we saw how God truly worked in my mom’s heart, how He changed her heart.”

“Which is why after four attempts,” she continues, “she finally said yes! It was really through God’s grace and by faith that Ryan and I overcame that challenge.”

Ryan and Aby trusted God and He did not disappoint. Today, along with the joy of their whole family, this beautiful couple share with us the sweet miracle that they call their wedding.

“Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” 1 Corinthians 13:7
